The interesting Verzetsmuseum outlines the development of the Dutch Resistance from the German invasion of the Netherlands in May 1940 to the liberation in 1945.
BEGIJNHOF
Amsterdam is full of "hofjes", meaning courtyards hidden away behind housefronts. This is one of the largest and an unexpected oasis of peace. It also contains one of the oldest houses in town, built in 1475.
HEINEKEN BREWERY
